The Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation recently awarded three Rush Memorial Hospital employees with scholarships. In a commitment to ensuring that high-quality health care is available to the community, the scholarship program encourages current employees to continue to advance their careers and knowledge through education.
Kimberly Herrmann – Oncology Department, Katelyn Green – Human Resources, and Kate Meyer – Finance Department were awarded the Rush Memorial Hospital Employee Reimbursement Scholarship on March 8th, 2021.
Kimberly Herrmann, LPN is currently enrolled in the practical nursing program at Ivy Tech Community College in pursuit of becoming a Registered Nurse. When asked about her career choice, she said “I really love oncology and hope and pray to know as much as I can in this field.” In response to receiving the scholarship she said, “My heart is with Rush Memorial, so to have the support of the hospital with me, just proves that RMH cares about my career growth.”
Katelyn Green recently graduated with her Masters in Management and Leadership from Western Governor’s University. “I decided that working with people and helping them find their inner strengths, develop their weaknesses and helping them through ‘life’s curve balls’ is where I want to be and what I want to do with my career.”, Katelyn said of her career choice. Receiving her scholarship, Katelyn said, “This scholarship helped take a little bit of the stress of the financial burden away. I appreciate it tremendously.”
Kate Meyer is currently enrolled in the Bachelors of Accounting program at Western Governor’s University. In her words, “In accounting, I am able to play a small role in supporting the hospital grow and expand healthcare services in the community.” Receiving her scholarship she said, “This scholarship has been an immense help in pursuing my dream of completing my accounting degree.”
This scholarship opportunity has been made possible through the support of generous donors and through the annual RMH Golf Outing. This year’s RMH Golf Outing will be held on August 27, 2021.
