Memorable gifts make lasting impressions at the RMH Foundation

As we have just celebrated Memorial Day, it comes to mind that gifts given in memory of or in honor of someone, a special event, or specific group can make a lasting impression to those that are celebrated. Memorial gifts can be designated to a specific Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation fund.

These tax deductible gifts are always acknowledged in writing to the donor. Special cards are sent to designated persons in which the gift was given in memory of or occasion.

Beginning at a $500 gift level engraved leaves, branches, and acorns may be placed on the RMH Tree of Life. These special gifts leave a legacy of support for the hospital. Engraving can include the person’s name, family name, organization’s name, or reflect the special event – such as an anniversary or birthday. These legacy gifts leave a piece of history on the Rush Memorial Hospital wall as to the folks that support the mission and vision of Rush Memorial Hospital.

Gifts may also be given to the RMH Foundation in honor of someone or a special event. These gifts may be designated to a specific fund within the RMHF. All gifts are tax deductible as the RMH Foundation is a designated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Acknowledgement in writing of the gift will be sent to the donor. A card will be sent to the person in whose honor the gift was given. These gifts can also qualify for a leaf, branch, or acorn on the RMH Tree of Life beginning with a $500 gift level.

It was the pleasure of the RMH Foundation and the Sheehan Cancer Center staff to recently receive some very special gifts. The RCHS Key Club made “Care Bags” for the Cancer Center patients. These bags consisted of water bottles, crackers, mints, activity pads, and other items that patients could use as they are receiving treatment at the Sheehan Cancer Center. These very thoughtful gifts were gratefully accepted. “This is so nice of this club and their students to think about our patients. These bags are appropriate for any of our cancer patients and they will be thrilled to receive them. Thank you Key Club for thinking of us!” shared Erin Pike, Oncology Director at the RMH Sheehan Cancer Center.

Earlier in the week, the RCHS Lady Lions Softball Team presented the RMH Foundation with a gift of $582 to the Sheehan Cancer Center in honor of Cathy Pratt.

According to softball head coach Aaron Kirchoff, “The team held a special cancer awareness game where Cathy threw out the first pitch. With bake sale purchases and a silent auction, they were able to give this gift in Cathy’s honor. I am very proud of the girls for their efforts to this event and cause. The team is excited to be able to give this gift in honor of Cathy.”

Meeting the qualifications of at least a $500 gift, the RCHS Lady Lions Softball Team will be adding their leaf to the RMH Tree of Life located inside the ER entrance of the hospital.

Consider a memorial or honorary gift. Gifts may be donated online at www.rushmemorial.com/foundation or sent by mail to the RMH Foundation, 1300 North Main Street, Rushville, Indiana 46173.
