Brian’s Cause 5K IN Color going official

The date is set – Saturday, August 20. The location is ready – Rush Memorial Hospital.

The third annual Brian’s Cause 5K IN Color is becoming an officially timed race. Using a professional timing service, 131 Event Productions, runners from around central Indiana can now participate is a great race/walk for a great cause. The annual fundraiser sponsored by the Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation will raise financial support for cancer patients of the RMH Sheehan Cancer Center that are in financial need during their cancer treatment. “ We are happy to announce that any RMH Sheehan Cancer Center patient in financial need may apply for Brian’s Cause assistance. Certain qualifications, spelled out in the application, must be met before the committee can review. We are grateful to have the Brian’s Cause Cancer Treatment Relief Fund available to our patients. This fund has truly helped in a time of need”, stated Faith Mock, RMH Foundation Director. All money raised stays locally to assist those patients in the greatest need.

As part of a morning full of activities this fun 5K IN Color run/walk will begin behind the main hospital building at 8AM.. Registration will be available online at and on the 131 Event Productions race website. Registration that morning will be open at 7:30AM behind the hospital for last minute participants. The registration cost is $40. Early registration is encouraged to ensure an official t-shirt. Each runner will receive an official Brian’s Cause 5K medal at the finish line.

For those that wish something a little more casual a one mile Memorial/Family Walk will also be offered. This non-competitive walk will allow people and families to walk in memory or honor of a friend(s) or loved one(s). Wagons, wheelchairs, and carts are welcomed on the walks.

A breakfast sponsored by the RMH Cultivation Club will be served for a nominal fee. All proceeds from the breakfast will be given to the Brian’s Cause Cancer Treatment Relief Fund. This breakfast will be opened to the public and to participants of the 5K IN Color run/walk and the Brian’s Cause – Together We Can event. Last year the event raised $20,000. The goal this year is to meet or exceed the $20,000 mark. More details about the total morning event on August 20, 2016 will be coming soon.
